 (EMAILWIRE.COM, February 14, 2012 ) Atlanta, Ga. – Georgia Massage School recently partnered with Hands for Heroes(TM), a nationwide organization of healthcare professionals, to provide free bodywork therapy sessions for U.S. military veterans.
The nationwide Hands for Heroes organization seeks to provide bodywork therapy for returning veterans by partnering with numerous health care centers and experienced individuals across the U.S. According to Dr. Stephen Hunt, national director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Post Deployment Integrative Care Initiative, veterans face a variety of issues that are either unique to their field or more commonly occur among veterans than the general population. Aside from experiencing psychological and psychosocial issues, returning U.S. service members often face a variety of ailments, including musculoskeletal injuries and pain, as well as urologic injuries.
As a Hands for Heroes partner, the metropolitan Atlanta massage school will provide a predetermined number of free bodywork therapy sessions each month to help veterans treat a number of physical complaints and injuries, as well as helping veterans alleviate the stress encountered while on-duty. Georgia Massage School will act as a valuable therapeutic resource for veterans by providing its expertise, time and bodywork therapy sessions at no cost.
