Yaz Blood Clot Risk Being Investigated by the FDA

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 04, 2011 ) New York, NY – The Yaz blood clot risk is being reviewed by the FDA to evaluate this potential side effect of Yaz and other contraceptives containing drospirenone. The FDA cited two studies which revealed that women ages 15 to 44 taking drospirenone-containing birth control pills, such as Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella, were two to three times more likely to develop venous thromboembolism, an alleged Yaz blood clot, than women taking pills containing levonorgestrel. Because of this new information regarding the potential for Yaz blood clots, the Yaz attorneys working with Class Class Action.org are now available to review claims from users of Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella who developed Yasmin blood clots. To have your claim reviewed at no cost to you, visit http://www.classaction.org/yaz-yasmin.html and complete the form on the right with details of your Yaz blood clot claim.

As the FDA announced that it was investigating the potential Yaz blood clot risk associated with the pill and other drospirenone-containing contraceptives, it recommended that women taking Yasmin, Ocella and similar medications should not stop using them without first speaking with their doctor. The agency has advised patients, however, to be aware of the symptoms of alleged Yaz blood clots, which may include leg pain, severe chest pain and a sudden shortness of breath.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is one type of blood clot which can reportedly result as a side effect of drospirenone pills such as Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella. This type of alleged Yaz blood clot forms in a deep vein of the body. Potentially, a blood clot can break loose from the vein and travel through the body, causing a problem in the lung, known as a pulmonary embolism. In the most severe cases, a pulmonary embolism can result in death.

Women who suffered a pulmonary embolism or other Yaz blood clot while taking Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella may be eligible for Yaz litigation. Potentially, Yaz lawsuits could award the injured patient with compensation for medical bills and other damages resulting from their blood clots. To find out if you may be eligible for a Yaz lawsuit, visit Class Action.org today and complete the free case review form for a no obligation evaluation of your claim. The Yaz lawyers working with the site are providing this online consultation at no cost and remain committed to protecting the rights of women who suffered serious side effects while taking Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella.
