(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 22, 2009 ) Miami, Florida - As charities and non-profits struggle in difficult economic times, many are seeking new approaches to improve their fundraising efforts.
In that vein, the American Diabetes Association of Southeast Florida (ADA Southeast FL) is partnering with Get Moving Catalog to launch & promote a novel fundraising initiative called Diabetes Miami (www.diabetesmiami.com). The launch will take place on November 22nd during Feria de la Salud, a regional consumer health expo taking in Miami, FL.
Diabetes Miami will offer healthy living and diabetic friendly products for sale with a percentage of sale proceeds going to support the ADA Southeast Florida. Additionally, all profits generated at the event from the sale of “Kathy Smith’s Project: You! Type 2”, a diabetes management program, will be donated to help fund Diabetes research.
“In today’s day and age it is refreshing to see a new approach to fundraising” said Aldo Cardona, Associate Manager of the ADA SE FL. “Thanks to Get Moving Catalog and DiabetesMiami.Com we can now promote the importance of healthy living while at the same time raising the funds we need to support our mission”.
“We are honored to be working with the ADA Southeast Florida” said Fernanda Bressan, Get Moving Catalog’s Outreach Director. “We believe that our DiabetesMiami.Com initiative will make difference in our community while helping the ADA Southeast Florida overcome this year’s shortfall in fundraising revenues”.
