Simply Anabolics warns of the dangers of not checking steroid facts

(Medical-NewsWire.com, April 22, 2016 ) London, UK -- Simply Anabolics, the expert online bodybuilding reference site, has issued a warning of the risks in blindly using steroids.

Anabolic steroid use has been prevalent in the bodybuilding community since they first exploded onto the scene more than fifty years ago. Originally used by the Russians, anabolic steroid use spread into the wider community before being outlawed by all the major sporting bodies, including the International Olympics Committee.

Steroids can provide an advantage in performance in many sports, from baseball to mixed martial arts, as well as to the discipline they're often the most associated with, bodybuilding. Some of the benefits they offer include rapid muscle growth, extra strength and improved endurance as well as helping to promote faster recovery from injuries too. But despite the many benefits, use of steroids comes at a considerable risk.

The use of anabolic steroids and other performance enhancing drugs can poison the liver, trigger baldness and abnormal development of breasts in men as well as causing cardiac problems too. Anabolic steroids cause even more issues for women, including a deep voice and excessive body hair. If steroid use is not promptly stopped, these effects can be permanent.

Even worse, when used incorrectly, anabolic steroids can cause death. Simply Anabolics believes that some of these deaths could have been prevented if the individuals had stopped to educate themselves about steroid use before taking them.

The managing director of Simply Anabolics, Harry Holmes, admitted, "Despite the use of performance enhancing drugs such as anabolic steroids being illegal in the US, many bodybuilders continue to use them. These type of drugs are extremely potent and if you're going to do it, it's absolutely essential to understand what you're putting into your body first".

He went on to warn, "Not understanding how to properly dose the drug, or how to help the body recover by using PCT can lead to long term damage which is irreversible. This could cause anything from baldness to permanent infertility. Sadly some users are simply focusing on the potential gains without stopping to consider the consequences, which could include death".

Anabolic steroids remain in use in medicine in a very limited capacity and doctors are only permit-ted to prescribe this type of drug when there is a legitimate medical cause. For this reason, many users are forced underground to secure their supply, another factor which increases the danger further. Using the black market means that there's no guarantee about the strength of the drug, the conditions in which it was produced or any other substances mixed in. These leaves users exposed to the risk of accidental overdose or poisoning.

Many sporting organisations have redoubled their efforts to catch athletes doping in competition but the reality is that the majority of anabolic steroid users are amateurs, taking the supplement to improve their workout results. Simply Anabolics has urged these individuals to make sure they properly research any performance enhancing drugs before starting a cycle, and to never exceed the recommended dose or length of use.
