The TIC resident pediatrician, Dr. Jessica Greenley, shared her point of view regarding nocturnal enuresis. According to Dr. Greenly, approximately 15% of five-year-old children experience involuntary bedwetting at night. To better manage bedwetting, she also gave the following tips: encourage the child to use the toilet once every two to three hours throughout the day; discourage the child from drinking caffeinated drinks; limit fluids before bedtime; help the child develop the habit of using the toilet before going to bed; and reward good behavior. If nothing improves after taking these measures, Dr. Greenley recommends using a bedwetting alarm for kids such as Dr. Madre.
