West Palm Beach Drug Rehab Comments On The Success of The Crime Crackdown in West Palm Beach

(Medical-NewsWire.com, August 28, 2015 ) West Palm Beach, FL --

According to Fox 29 News, after a recent crime crackdown in West Palm Beach, the results are police taking more guns, drugs, and gang members off of the streets.

The crime crackdown comes in response to a recent string of deadly violence in July, as a result police have increased patrols on the northern end of West Palm Beach. Despite the results of the crackdown being quite successful, the community suggest that there is still a lot more work to be done.

Pastor Henry Green shared that his community is still hurt by a recent string of violence. When we're not worshipping on Sundays, people who park here for hours, who walk this neighborhood just for exercise, they want to feel safe when they do it." Pastor Green's sentiments are shared by many members of the community, especially after four people being killed due to gun violence in just one week last month.

The police shared that between July 29 and July 31, they seized almost a dozen guns and identified at least five gang members in association with gangs connected to the recent string of violence. Officers also report that they have made eight firearm arrests and seized over 260 grams of drugs including cocaine, heroin, and the newly popular drug, flakka.

Those who live in the community have taken notice to the extra police presence and suggests its now time for the police to start working with the residents. Many have said that seeing more patrols is one of the first of many stps for rebuilding trust between the community and the police.

according to city officials, police will continue their efforts and will continue to increase patrols until further notice. City leaders and religious leaders have also joined forces to gather for a community peace walk to help stop violence.

An associate from West Palm Beach Drug Rehab comments "It's unfortunate that such an immense amount of crime had to take place before the police decided to crackdown on the string of violent crimes which have taken place this summer. However, I am a firm believer in better late than never. I also believe that with continued efforts, the police can definitely substantially decrease the rate of crime in our community."
