New Research Showed Turmeric-Based Formulation Releases Anti-inflammatory Power Throughout The Body

(Medical-NewsWire.com, June 26, 2015 ) Orlando, FL -- Curcumin, which is the key ingredient of the ancient spice turmeric, has long been used for its therapeutic benefits. However, it seems that there is something that could cause more improvement to its health-promoting benefits.

New research showed a recently created turmeric-based formulation releases anti-inflammatory power throughout the body. Curcumin has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries as a remedy for a wide variety of diseases such as diabetes, allergies and ulcers. It has also been very popular among arthritis sufferers.

"There is scientific and anecdotal evidence that suggests curcumin can significantly promote health due to its capacity to lower inflammation. However, there is usually a problem of malabsorption," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.

There have been several research groups that were investigating the therapeutic benefits of curcumin. The problem is that most curcumin that can be obtained in supplements or food often stays in the gastrointestinal tract, and only a little is absorbed by the body.

The Ohio State University scientists are trying to investigate whether curcumin is useful to combat a disease when taken on a daily basis. They are looking for some ways to deliver the therapeutic benefits of curcumin inside the body.

According to the postdoctoral researcher of Ohio State's rheumatology and immunology department, Nicholas Young, there is a great reason why turmeric has been used for centuries in Eastern Medicine. Young was also the lead author of the study, and he believed that learning more about increasing curcumin absorption, as well as the diseases that they can use it for, can significantly help them make the most out of the anti-inflammatory powers of the spice.

"A process known as nano-emulsion involves mixing curcumin powder with polyethylene glycol and castor oil. This process makes it possible for the compound to dissolve and be easily absorbed inside the body," added O'Sullivan.

Many people from around the world today are using curcumin supplements. They find it more helpful to use supplements that consume turmeric powder, mainly because of the malabsorption issue. There are curcumin supplements that contain a black pepper extract known as BioPerine, which is popularized by its capacity to improve nutrient absorption inside the body.

Supplements that contain a combination of curcumin and BioPerine are believed to be very effective, especially among arthritis patients. Many arthritis sufferers claimed that they have experienced significantly pain relief and were even able to do their daily routines painlessly again (http://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-BioPerine-Bio-availability/dp/B00JA4TLTI).
