New Research Revealed That An MMR Booster Vaccine Can Potentially Work Well In Juvenile Arthritis

(Medical-NewsWire.com, June 15, 2015 ) Orlando, FL -- Juvenile arthritis does not just affect the patient, but also the entire family. Patients can suffer from emotional distress, especially when the problem is not properly addressed. However, it seems that a solution is about to change the lives of those who are suffering from the condition.

New research revealed that an MMR booster vaccine can potentially work well in juvenile arthritis. MMR vaccines are highly recommended for children as they work by protecting them from the three serious illnesses, namely measles, mumps and rubella. Most of the United States requires this vaccine before a child is admitted to school. Adults who have not yet taken the treatment may also need to get a shot, too.

According to the study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the MMR booster vaccine can work well for patients who suffer from juvenile idiopathic arthritis. This treatment has also become popular, mainly because it doesn't cause flares or worsen the disease.

"JIA patients are usually immunosuppressed because of the disease itself or the medication that they usually take, such as biologics and methotrexate. Patients are often warned to avoid getting vaccines that have a live virus, mainly because it could make them suffer from the condition that the vaccines are supposed to prevent," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.

Researchers analyzed 137 patients who underwent various treatments such as methotrexate, biologic and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Half of the population received MMR boosters while the other half did not. The subjects were assessed every three months, and after one year.

It was found that those who received the treatment experienced higher protection rates against measles, mumps and rubella. However, researchers also noted that they were not able to draw concrete conclusions about the effect of MMR boosters on patients with JIA and high disease activity. Experts believe that it is safe for JIA patients who take methotrexate to be given an MMR booster as well as vaccines with viruses that are not live.

Many parents whose child is suffering from juvenile arthritis often resort to a wide variety of treatment options just to address the problem. For many adults who suffer from arthritis, getting pain relief has become easier. There are many pain relief drugs that are known to be effective in helping them improve their overall condition.

One of the most popular treatment options is called curcumin supplements. Curcumin is felt to be a powerful anti-inflammatory natural alternative that is very helpful to arthritis sufferers (amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-BioPerine-Bio-availability/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
