Study Reveals Hair Loss In Arthritis Sufferers Is Not Associated With Glucosamine Use

(Medical-NewsWire.com, March 16, 2015 ) Orlando, FL -- Millions of individuals nowadays are suffering from arthritic conditions. Those who suffer from it use a wide variety of treatments and natural alternatives. Glucosamine supplements are one of the alternatives that are believed by many to be more effective and safe. However, there has been a widespread belief that the natural alternative is associated with hair loss, and this is something that many experts are studying.

The University of Maryland Medical Center conducted a study and found that hair loss, especially among arthritis sufferers, is not associated with the use of glucosamine. According to experts, the hair loss experienced by many of those who suffer from arthritis may be due to a wide variety of factors.

"Glucosamine is considered by many to be a great natural pain relief option. It offers a wide variety of therapeutic benefits even to those who are not suffering from arthritis," said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O'Sullivan.

According to experts, the occurrence of hair loss may be due to underlying factors, such as malnutrition, medications, heredity and hormonal imbalances. Studies have been conducted to see whether or not glucosamine really causes hair loss, and not one has found any proof to validate that intake of the natural alternative can lead to loss of hair.

The National Institutes of Health also suggest that hair loss can potentially be caused by autoimmune disorders. Autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis can cause inflammation, which also results in joint pain.

"Many health experts are suggesting that those who suffer from arthritis should not be afraid of using glucosamine, especially those who are relying on the natural alternative. There has not been any proof that glucosamine does cause hair loss," added O'Sullivan.

Surveys revealed that individuals who experience hair loss are also suffering from other conditions. These conditions include rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, high blood cholesterol and depression.

Glucosamine has high levels of therapeutic properties and is widely known to provide a myriad of health benefits. Many of those who suffer from arthritis nowadays are using glucosamine supplements. Most of them believe that using the natural alternative has helped them achieve the level of pain relief they are looking for. Those who used glucosamine supplements that also include other ingredients such as chondroitin, MSM and turmeric, claimed that they experience not just pain relief, but an improvement in their overall health condition (http://www.amazon.com/Glucosamine-Sulfate-Chondroitin-Supplement-Turmeric/dp/B00DUMO9X4).
