TerraPur Explains Why Tasty Multivitamins For Children Is Important

(Medical-NewsWire.com, March 16, 2015 ) Jacksonville, FL -- Multivitamins have been around for decades and giving them to children has become an accepted practice. However, TerraPur Health insists that giving their product Children’s Complete Gummy Multivitamins the flavor and texture that it has plays an important role in keeping children healthy. Jonathan Kaplan, the company's spokesperson elaborates on the issues.

"The concept of giving children multivitamins has been around for centuries," Kaplan explains, "though not necessarily in their modern forms. Kids and adults alike have benefitted from concoctions that were meant to add nutrients to their bodies which were lacking since way back when, though the practice suffered due to terrible taste and unpleasant appearances."

It was pointed out that even though the matter of adding tasty flavors, textures and colors in multivitamins was to make children more cooperative (indeed, more enthusiastic) about taking them, the practice is more than just a marketing move. Kaplan insists that in several cases, the additions actually play a more vital role than what the idea is given credit for.

Before going deeper into the discussion though, Kaplan made a few things clear saying, "To start with, it should be understood that in many cases, multivitamins are not necessary. If parents can provide children with a healthy and well-balanced diet consistently, there would be few reasons to give the little ones vitamins of any kind. However, modern lifestyle has made such cases rare."

Whether or not such statements are accurate, there certainly seem to be situations wherein points of appeal in terms of taste, appearance, color and texture are suitable. Some of these were listed, which touched on "diets filled with processed or ready-made foods due to busy work schedules of parents" as well as "picky tykes refusing to eat anything except mac ‘n cheese or equivalent" as Kaplan put it.

In such situations, it would be easy to see how tasty, gummy multivitamins would work better than regular vitamin supplements. Parents encounter less resistance because their kids would be more used to the flavored kind and since they are chewy, children who enjoy candy would be able to appreciate them more.

"The fact of the matter is simply that times have changed," Kaplan added, "and though it's ideal for children to get their vitamins and minerals from fruits, meats and vegetables, it's simply not viable for reasons like those cited here. In order to make sure that the health levels of modern kids are kept high, giving them supplements containing the nutrients that they may be missing is imperative. Otherwise, they become more prone to illnesses that they could have easily repelled."
