Tea Tree Oil Uses

(Medical-NewsWire.com, March 12, 2015 ) Westendorf, Tirol -- Antibacterial soap has become a standard item in classrooms and physician’s offices and almost everyone carries a small bottle in their vehicle. What consumers may not know is that their antibacterial soap, mouthwash and antifungal soap may contain triclosan, a chemical many scientists claim can impair muscle function.

"Triclosan is found in virtually everyone's home and is pervasive in the environment," said Helga Riedmann, founder of Mountainbreeze Naturals.

Triclosan is found in a wide variety of products ranging from deodorants, toys and carpets to bedding, furniture and kitchenware. Scientists say that research indicates triclosan has the potential for a strong negative impact on human health and the environment. In clinical tests, it's been shown to delay muscle contractions at the cellular level. Fish swim slower and mice are weaker when exposed to the substance.

The chemical is an ingredient typically used as an antibacterial and antifungal in products that include toothpaste, shampoo and consumer cleaning products, but the FDA has found no evidence that it has a greater benefit than using plain soap and water. Once declared to be non-hazardous, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently conducting further studies in light of new scientific evidence.

The substance is related to triclocarban and studies have linked both to problems ranging from skin irritation to increased antibiotic resistance. First introduced in 1972, it was utilized in hospitals and similar settings, but quickly expanded into the realm of consumer products. Some states have banned the use of triclosan, a few manufacturers have eliminated it from their products and Canada has declared it environmentally harmful.

Mountainbreeze Naturals is committed to providing consumers with natural products free of chemicals and encourages consumers' desire for organic products. As consumers continue to seek natural antibacterial and antifungal alternatives, Mountainbreeze Naturals has become a leading provider of antifungal soap and body wash featuring tea tree oil.

Tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral used in traditional Aboriginal medicine. It's also a botanical anti-inflammatory for skin irritations, burns and insect bites. Mountainbreeze Naturals was founded with a philosophy of natural products as an alternative to chemical compounds that cause harm to consumers and the environment.
