Healthy Hair Growth With Hair Vitamins Video

(Medical-NewsWire.com, September 30, 2014 ) Breinigsville, PA -- Hair loss is an issue that affects both men and women, with male pattern baldness being the most common form of hair loss. Losing hair can affect confidence and self esteem, so here are 5 Do's and Don'ts:

1. Do ask a Medical Doctor: Consumers who have questions or concerns about hair loss are advised to make an appointment to see their M.D. Other sources of advice in the U.S. include, American Academy of Dermatology, American Hair Loss Association, American Hair Loss Council, International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, North American Hair Research Society, National Alopecia Areata Foundation, and American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.

2. Do consider nutritional factors: Nutritional deficiencies may be contributing to an increase in hair loss, by weakening the hair shaft which can cause hair breakage and slower growth of new hair. B group vitamins are important for healthy hair growth, especially biotin. Too little biotin can lead to hair loss. Hair is made of protein, so healthy follicles are maintained by eating enough protein. Some people can't give themselves a healthy balanced diet with all the nutrients the body needs, or don't know how to, others have medical illnesses that predispose them to nutritional deficiency. Hair growth may be reduced by nutrient deficiency, such as zinc deficiency, anorexia, anemia, crash dieting. The dietary supplement Healthy Hair Growth And Gain includes biotin and zinc.

3. Do remember that hair continues to fall, even during and after a hair loss treatment regimen. Everyone loses hair every day. Most people daily lose from about 60 to 100 strands of hair. This normal hair loss is replaced by new hair. A person experiencing abnormal hair loss has a shorter than normal hair growth cycle and at the end of a hair's life cycle, a new hair grows but it's finer / thinner, or a new hair doesn't grow. Sometimes, when a hair loss treatment program begins, there can be increased shedding, because hairs that would have ultimately fallen, get pushed out by new hair growth which does eventually increase in diameter, which means that hair becomes thicker and more voluminous.

4. Don't pull hair harshly: Gentleness with hair is vital, especially when hair is wet and hence at its weakest. Best to get hair 90 percent dry before styling. Traction Alopecia can be caused by pulling hair too tightly into a ponytail or by hair extensions or braiding that is too tight for too long. Don't use rubber bands for ponytails.

5. Don't overdo processing: Too much heat or chemicals can make hair weak, dry and brittle and may cause hair breakage. Hair breakage and hair loss as a result of styling can often be reversed. Excess blow-drying, curling, bleaching, dyeing, straightening, or perming, may dry out and damage hair and may cause the hair shaft to break off, resulting in temporary hair thinning. Consider giving hair a break, like one day a week, from styling.

Healthy, good looking hair is in general a sign of a good hair care regimen.
