Omega 3 Fish Oil May Boost Immune System

Benefits of omega 3 supplements for healthy living and how Ballena Nelle achieves the highest quality in its fish oil

(Medical-NewsWire.com, August 21, 2013 ) Nevada, Las Vegas -- Fish oil may benefit the immune system, according to a study conducted by researchers at Michigan State University and East Carolina University.

Researchers fed one group of mice a control diet and the other group of mice a diet that included fish oil, which is rich in the omega-3 fatty acid compound docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The fish oil appeared to boost B cell activity in the mice.

The immune system protects the body from infection. The immune response is when the immune system attacks invading organisms and substances that could cause disease. B cells are white blood cells that make antibodies against antigens and are an important part of the body's immune response. The boost in B cell activity may mean that fish oil could improve the body's immune response to illnesses.

Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids, which means they are required for metabolism but cannot be synthesized by the body. The best source of Omega 3 fatty acids is cold water oily fish and in particular, sardines and anchovies. Fish oil harvested and purified from these species is manufactured into omega 3 fish oil supplements by quality health supplement companies like Ballena Nelle

"It is clearly accepted that sufficient omega 3 is necessary for good health, and there is enough interest in its potential that clinical studies continue to be conducted in order to understand what the benefits are and if there are direct linkages between these essential fatty acids and disease fighting capabilities,"said Tess Mckay, a customer service representative for Ballena Nelle.
Ballena Nelle Pharmaceutical Grade Omega 3 Fish Oil is made with the highest grade fish oil available and is tested by a third party to make sure it is free from contaminants. The lemon flavored product comes in a capsule.

The supplements contain 55% eicosapentaenoic acids (EPA) and DHA per capsule. Many other fish oil supplements contain 20% EPA and DHA, with other fillers.

Ballena Nelle Pharmaceutical Grade Omega-3 Fish Oil comes from wild anchovies and sardines harvested from the southern Pacific. Ballena Nelle uses fish oil from fish that are at the lower end of the food chain because they are exposed to less contaminants.

The company uses Norwegian technology and expertise for molecular distillation, which is the newest technology for purification, and then ships the refined fish oil to the United States for manufacturing into soft gel capsules.

"There are easier ways to bring fish oil to the market, but not if we wanted to achieve the quality we have," said Mckay.
