(Medical-NewsWire.com, August 08, 2013 ) Edmonton, Canada -- The Alberta Dental Association has loaned the High River Dental Clinic a Winnebago to help reach patients ravaged by the flood in High River. The mobile clinic has all the same equipment as a regular dentist’s office, including room to work on three patients at once.
Cathy Reid, a patient at the mobile clinic, thinks the idea was fantastic. She says many people in High River will not have a normal situation for the rest of their lives, and the dentist’s office and familiar faces provides them with a sense of normalcy, which she thinks is very important.
Erin Babic, the administrator for High River Dental says it brings in a sense of closeness between the dentists, staff and patients, and not only because they are sharing a 38-foot space, but by bringing people together.
“They’re like ‘this is the first time I’ve been able to relax in weeks,” said Michelle McIntosh, one of the dentists with High River Dental Clinic. Everybody is in it together, she says, so it’s a little bit of a camaraderie.
