Beverly Hills-Type Cosmetic Surgery is Popular in the Middle East

(Medical-NewsWire.com, June 04, 2013 ) Los Angeles, CA -- Unbeknownst to to Dr. Jason Diamond, his famous E! Reality TV series Dr. 90210 was being aired on the other side of the planet, until several women from the Middle East began showing up in his office for plastic surgery.

As a facial specialist, Diamond was one of the group specialists featured on the hit show from 2005 to 2008. After the show began airing in the middle east, some of his most prominent clients were members of the most powerful and wealthiest Arab families in the world, including royalty from the different countries in the region. All of them wanted one thing: plastic surgery.

Initially, Diamond treated these patients in the United States. However, his clients began to ask if he’d be willing to travel to provide his services for them and their families at their home. He agreed, and began his transition. It took him a little over a year to get the license he needed to practice in the region and settle on a feasible medical facility where he could meet with patients and operate.

Eventually, he chose the American British Surgical and Medical Centre in Dubai, founded by British plastic surgeon Mendy Kahn. He was absolutely unaware of how popular he was in Dubai. Diamond recalls that people would come out of their doors just to get a look at him. He was so popular, he started making trips to Dubai regularly, performing surgeries in the United States as well as the United Arab Emirates.

That wasn’t the only thing that surprised him when he started his work in the Middle East. In Beverly Hills, he was used to his patients asking for Halle Berry’s nose or lips like Megan Fox. However, he wasn’t sure what he would expect from his new patients. He was worried about whether he’d be able to translate his patients’ requests. Turns out, that wasn’t an issue.

About 60 percent of Diamond’s patients in Dubai are Arabs who speak affluent English. The other 40% are residents of Europe or Australia and other parts of the world who also speak English. Because of this, Diamond was able to accept patients from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Far East, India, and Russia, with almost no problems or language barriers.

While there are some variations in taste across the world, most of Diamond's patients have the same ideas. Diamond and his group now have their sights set on a brand new facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
