A porcelain veneer is a custom-made thin layer of material that is generally bonded to the tooth with resin cement. The tooth is prepared for the veneer by removing a tiny amount of enamel from the tooth’s surface. An impression of the tooth is then taken and sent to a laboratory where the veneer is created.
Veneers are adhered to teeth using a light sensitive resin, which is placed between the veneer and the tooth. A special curing light is then used to harden the resin.
