(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 03, 2007 ) San Clemente, CA -- The Grove Center for the Arts & Media, a Southern California non-profit ministry, announced the launch of its new website, Grovefilms.com, which will offer churches low-cost downloadable films and media resources. Grovefilms.com will advance the careers of filmmakers by enabling them to sell their films to churches seeking films with spiritual themes and messages. With the explosion of Myspace, Youtube and other social networking sites, Grovefilms.com seeks to educate Catholic and Protestant churches how to use film to promote spiritual growth and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.Executive Director Joey O’Connor stated, “We are extremely excited to launch Grovefilms.com. Pastors and music ministers are looking for new ways to effectively communicate with their congregations. Pastors tell stories and people love stories. We know that film, video, and the media are the number one influencer and story-telling tools of families, kids and individuals today. Our goal with Grovefilms.com is to provide churches high-quality film and video content made by Christian filmmakers to churches across the world. For far too long, Christians have criticized Hollywood without providing new and compelling film content. Our goal is to give filmmakers a platform to make positive contributions to churches and our culture at large.”Grovefilms.com will not only provide filmmakers a place to post and sell their films to churches, it will also offer a Young Filmmakers section for emerging filmmakers to sell their films online. O’Connor added, “Our Young Filmmakers is a safe place for kids and adults who are just beginning their filmmaking careers to sell their videos online. Grovefilms.com is investing in the future filmmakers of America and across the world.” Grovefilms.com will donate 10% of all net proceeds to artistic grants and scholarships through The Grove Foundation for the Arts & Media. O’Connor concluded, “Grovefilms.com is created by artists for artists to equip the Church to transform the world. By providing high-quality media content to churches across the world, we’re hoping to leverage the power of the Internet and creative filmmaking for the kingdom of God.”Founded in 2003, The Grove Center for the Arts & Media offers retreats, programs and online resources to encourage creativity to equip the Church to transform the world. The non-profit ministry sponsors the Creative Edge Artist Network, a nationwide network of artists in the Church and is developing a national retreat center for arts in the Church at its twelve acre avocado ranch located in Valley Center, California (North San Diego).Contact:Joey O'ConnorThe Grove Center for the Arts & MediaTel: 949-276-8706www.grovefilms.com
