(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 15, 2007 ) SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting their 35th Annual Business Awards and Recognition Banquet on Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Sacramento Convention Center. The banquet, which in the past has drawn over 1,000 attendees, will be a formal affair (black-tie optional), and the theme of the evening is “Generaciones” (Generations). This theme reflects the importance of tradition and culture in the lives of Hispanic businesspeople in the Sacramento region. The event sponsors are aligning themselves with the Hispanic community because Hispanics are the largest minority group as well as the nation’s fastest growing demographic group. According to Chairman of the Board for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber, Paul Galindo, “we are opening doors and opportunities for those generations to come as well as revitalizing the groundwork laid by the founders.” According to Mr. Galindo, the event will feature business owners who have been able to pass their business to younger family members and keep their traditions alive. The awards portion of the ceremony will be devoted to honoring outstanding Hispanic owned businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and a volunteer of the year. Ms. Diana Borroel, President/CEO of the SHCC, is passionate about helping business owners promote themselves and their products and/or services. “The objective is for all Hispanic businesses to grow by helping each other.” This goal is echoed by the Mission of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce: To maximize the success of our members’ businesses through networking, advocacy and education. In addition to hundreds of business owners who will attend the event Sacramento City Mayor Heather Fargo, will be in attendance and numerous other elected officials are planning to attend. Opportunities to speak directly with elected officials and to network with other successful Hispanic business owners are what will make this a can’t miss event. For more information about attending please call Manny Fernandez 916-868-3033. Email: manny@shccnews.org. www.sachcc.org.
