(Medical-NewsWire.com, December 03, 2015 ) Exeter, Devon -- Up-4-It.fit, suppliers of health and fitness equipment, reported a significant increase in sales of its Open Patella Knee Brace during Black Friday and Cyber Monday trading period. Marketing Director for the company, Nigel Manning, said "We are delighted, of course. Our high quality knee brace provides immediate support and comfort for knee pain incurred from surgery, arthritis, and sporting activities. We reduced the price significantly during the week which naturally attracted many customers to purchase the brace. What's awesome is that customers love to tell us how the brace has alleviated their knee pain."

Up-4-It.fit's knee brace is made from neoprene which warms and relaxes the muscles, helping to speed up the healing process. There is a breathable liner which wicks away sweat ensuring the user remains dry and comfortable. There are three adjustable straps enabling correct compression throughout the day. The open patella design contains extra padding around the knee cap to protect the knee and keep it properly aligned. To help stabilize the knee further, there are 4 flexible lateral springs, two each side of the patella opening, which operate to allow freedom of movement of the knee.

The knee is one of the most complex joints in the body, and is extremely vulnerable to injury. It is the intersection for three important bones: the patella which is better known as the knee cap, the femur or thigh bone, and the tibia or shin bone. The knee cap rests in a groove called the trochlea in the femur, where it can slide backwards and forwards. Four other tendons are also involved and attach the thigh bone to either the shin bone or the tibia and these additional tendons act to keep the leg aligned.

Knee pain can be caused by a wide variety of issues ranging from sprains and overuse injuries, swollen or torn ligaments (anterior cruciate ligament or ACL), meniscus or cartilage tears and runner's knee.

Nigel said, "Customers love the comfortable fit, and the fact that the knee brace remains in place while they walk and run around, making it ideal for sports enthusiasts who require knee support during high impact exercises. It's often the case too, that people stop or reduce their activities when they have any kind of knee pain. Yet we hear time and again from customers who say that wearing it boosted their confidence."

Nigel added "The fact that we have seen a surge in sales over this trading period shows that customers have faith in our knee brace. We want to reach out to everyone whose activities are restricted by knee pain, and offer hope to them. We always say: don't let knee pain hold you back."
