The research was done at Université Laval in Canada, it reports that feeding mice a diet rich in DHA for three months significantly reduced the severity of a stroke.
Also, studies suggest that when one has Omega-3 fatty acids in their diet it will help protect them from plaque buildup and blood clots in their arteries which are the main causes for stroke. Low doses of Omega 3 fatty acids weekly - equal to two servings of fish a week - can decrease one's risk of stroke by 50% and continue to reduce the damage due to stroke as well.
