(Medical-NewsWire.com, January 30, 2015 ) Las Vegas, NV -- The Spokane Regional Health District says people should be worried about food-borne ailments, disclosing that gastrointestinal disorder affects 1 in 6 Americans annually. According to the most recent data, 128 million adults in the US are hospitalized each year, with about 3,000 dieing from food relevant ailments, though while typically adults think they have the flu, they have in fact gotten food poisoning. The Spokane Regional Health District explained the differences, who said... "The flu is felt a lot more in the chest, while gastrointestinal disorder is felt more in the tummy. Also, flu signs and symptoms come on faster than food-borne diseases, as it typically takes two days for gastrointestinal disorder to emerge."

"A lot of food-borne health problems are connected with a window of approximately 2 Days," explained Kim Papich for the Spokane Regional Health District. She included... "On a regular basis, we get calls fro people who are reporting some form of food-borne disease to us, from a dining establishment they had eaten at, where they suddenly feel the signs coming on soon after, however the possibility the dining establishment actually triggered off the signs so soon is quite low. To keep your whole family safe, practice basic hygiene in the kitchen and keep your raw foods clean, while storing all food types at correct temperatures, as the risk zone for germs is in between 40 and 140 degrees."

Freddie and Sebbie co-director, and father of 4, Mr Neil Speight says that the inappropriate handling, storage, or prep work of food are the most typical causes of food poisoning. He added... "While food safety is a recognized concern at almost every restaurant that serves food, in some cases things may just fall through the cracks, and people can become sick. Even unwashed lettuce can trigger bacterial infections like e.coli or viral infections like hepatitis A, which are definitely not nice at all. There have been several major food-borne disease break outs in recent years, caused by everything from cheese sauce left sitting out for too long to contaminated sprouts, with even big chains being susceptible to problems."

Mr Speight likewise had this guidance to provide American moms and dads relating to personal health and cold food preservation... "Always wash your hands prior to eating anything, because if you don't, you'll also be eating everything else you have touched since the last time you cleaned your hands. Be specifically mindful if you have actually handled raw meat, so during that case, do wash your hands thoroughly before touching anything else, and not only food. Finally, packed lunches are another typical cause of food poisoning, so food needs to be packed in a freezable lunch box, so when the time does arrive to tuck in, the food is still fresh, and gastrointestinal disorder is no longer a health threat."
