The report reveals that most fire-related deaths are caused by smoke inhalation of toxic gases produced by fire, with actual flames and burns only accounting for about 30% of fire-related deaths and injuries.
The report reveals that the majority of fires that kill or hurt kids are residential fires, saying that children aged 4 or less hospitalized for burn-related injuries, totaled 65 % scald burns, and 20% contact burns. The statistics show that fires kill about 500 youngsters aged 14 or less each year, with hot faucet water scald burns causing most deaths and hospitalizations than any other hot liquid burn. According to the report, the leading reason for home fires and related injuries is home-cooking equipment, nevertheless, most fire-related deaths are from residential fires ignited by cigarette smoking materials such as cigarettes or matches.
