Advice To Americans Who Want To Save On Healthcare Costs - 6 Painless Ways

(Medical-NewsWire.com, October 14, 2013 ) Charleston, South Carolina -- While there are many who will argue whether the Affordable Care Act will help Americans save on healthcare costs or increase premiums, there is evidence supporting the latter. Using essential oils, like Lavender Essential Oil, to cure a variety of ailments without a doctor's intervention just might be the answer to save on healthcare costs.

Take for example 100% Pure Lavender Oil. Steam distilled from the fresh flowering tops of certain species of lavender, this essential oil has been around for centuries and is best known for use in production of perfumes. However, in the world of Aromatherapy its properties produce far more medicinal effects ranging from easing anxiety, depression, nervous tension and stress to disinfecting a wound and treating many skin conditions.

This week, Susan Bridges, CEO of Southern Zoomer was interviewed and shared her thoughts on some of the methods in which Lavender Oil could be used to save on healthcare costs?

"1. Instead of taking anti-depressants, place 2-3 drops of Pure Lavender Oil in a diffuser or 8-10 drops in a nice warm bath to ease anxiety, depression, nervous tension or stress. The results are astounding.

2. Instead of buying expensive over the counter pills for PMS, mix 4-5 drops of Lavender Oil with 1 ounce of a carrier oil such as Almond Oil or Olive Oil and massage on your abdomen and lower back to diminish the effects of PMS.

3. Instead of visiting the emergency room, unless you are highly allergic to bee or wasp stings, place 2-3 drops of Lavender Oil on a cotton ball and dab on the affected area.

4. Instead of buying expensive over the counter remedies for the flu, lessen those flu symptoms by placing 2-3 drops of Lavender Oil in a diffuser or steam inhaler.

5. Instead of buying expensive over the counter remedies to relieve asthma, bronchial difficulties and/or hay fever, unless they are extreme, try placing 2-3 drops of Lavender Oil in a diffuser or steam inhaler. Or, place 8-10 drops in a nice warm bath plus mix 4-5 drops with a carrier oil and rub into your chest.

6. Instead of buying over the counter pain relievers or burn treatments, place 2-3 drops of Lavender Oil on a minor burn to decrease the pain. Try to do this immediately upon experiencing the burn to avoid redness, swelling, scaring and pain.

16 Feb 2017 at 3:05pm
The decision, from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, reverses an earlier decision in the so-called "Docs v. Glocks" case by a three-judge panel of that court upholding the law. The Florida attorney general's office and an attorney representing the doctors challenging the law could not immediately be reached for comment. The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, which filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of a group of medical and child welfare organizations opposing the law, praised the decision.

In Trump legislative void, Republicans slow to tackle big issues
16 Feb 2017 at 2:30pm

By Richard Cowan and David Morgan WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump, after nearly a month in power, has yet to unveil major legislation or publicly endorse bills from others, getting Republicans off to a slow start on the sweeping reforms they promised on the campaign trail. As Trump and Republicans ricochet from crisis to crisis, lawmakers have lowered expectations for legislative action in 2017 on tax reform, health care, financial regulation, jobs and infrastructure, with some urging more White House guidance. Ambitious campaign promises by Trump helped the Republicans make a clean sweep of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives in November's national elections.

16 Feb 2017 at 2:04pm

A federal judge in Massachusetts on Thursday dismissed a defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby by an actress who claimed he raped her, ruling that the comedian acted within his rights when he proclaimed himself innocent of the crime. The civil lawsuit is one of a slew of cases brought against the actor, best known for playing the father in the 1980s television hit "The Cosby Show," by about 50 women who say he sexually assaulted them, often after plying them with drugs and alcohol, in a series of alleged attacks dating back decades. The vast bulk of the claims are too old to be the subject of a criminal prosecution, though Cosby is also awaiting trial in Pennsylvania on charges he sexually assaulted a former basketball coach at his alma mater, Temple University.

Nationwide, the number of annual doctor visits involving patients 65 and older who started or were already taking at least three psychotropic drugs surged from 1.5 million in 2004 to 3.68 million in 2013, the study estimated. "This is not among patients with diagnoses like depression, anxiety, or insomnia, but rather in patients with pain and in patients with no mental health or pain diagnosis," noted lead study author Dr. Donovan Maust of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
